Safety

Keeps us at the top and our teams safe.

Safety imageEastern Utility Services Ltd is involved in a wide range of ongoing Overhead Line projects with various Electricity Companies throughout the country. In many instances the work we do is carried out using "hotglove" working techniques
This is a method of working which allows our highly trained and well motivated workforce to work "live", safely, at High Voltages, thereby cutting down outage size and reducing Customer Minute Lost time to a bare minimum.

We place particular emphasis on the Health and Safety of our staff, with our prime consideration being the execution of all works and projects to the highest possible standards and safety at all times.

EUS have Lloyds Accreditation for our Electrical Safety Management Systems with all of our systems and procedures being reviewed annually.

It is our intention to form close working relationships with our clients. This enables us, through consultation and co-operation, to develop best working practices and procedures. The majority of our staff are ex Regional Electricity Company employees who undertook an apprentice training scheme and are therefore well tuned to working to high safety standards.

We recognise that the people who work for us are our greatest asset. In order to carry out the work required from them, they need to be trained to a very high standard. We therefore select staff who have a responsible attitude and the maturity to recognise the importance of being safety conscious at all times.

The Safety section at EUS carry out regular audits on the teams in the field, with independent audits being carried out annually. We have a completely open and honest culture with regard to our operations and safety. Results of the independent audits are circulated to our clients for information, comment and feedback. Our internal audits are also available for inspection should any of our clients wish to view them.

The arrangements and organisation for the implementation of Eastern Utility Services Ltd safety policy and procedures include Directors, Members of Management, Project Managers and staff at all levels.
